Welcome to my page
Hello,
My name is Pamela Gikas-Gajic, and I am excited to be part of the Learning Diversity & Inclusion Department at Lincoln Park High School (LPHS). I've been part of the LPHS community since 2008, and I am deeply passionate about working with diverse learners.
My educational background provides a strong foundation for this work. I hold a Master of Science in Special Education (LBSI and LBSII: Curriculum Adaptation) from Northeastern Illinois University (2012) and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education (2013). My Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education History from DePaul University (2007) reflects my deep understanding and passion for the subject, which I bring to my work with the Individuals and Societies Department, particularly in US History.
As a Learning Behavior Specialist, U.S. History Teacher, and Home/Hospital Coordinator, I am dedicated to supporting students in multiple areas of their academic and personal growth. I design and implement differentiated learning strategies to meet the diverse needs of my students, ensuring they have access to engaging, accessible, and meaningful instruction. I also help students develop essential executive functioning skills such as organization, time management, planning, and study strategies. Furthermore, I assist students with post-secondary education, employment, and independent living, with a strong passion for work-based learning opportunities that prepare them for real-world experiences.
As the Department Lead, I am deeply committed to collaborating on effective strategies and interventions that support student success. I work closely with colleagues to develop and implement learning strategies that address diverse needs, ensuring that all students receive the appropriate supports and challenges necessary to succeed.
In my role as Home/Hospital Coordinator, I ensure that students receiving homebound instruction due to medical needs continue to have access to quality education, coordinating with teachers, families, and support staff to facilitate a smooth academic experience during their recovery.
Additionally, as a member of the Behavioral Health Team, I work with a collaborative group of professionals who all share the same vision of supporting students’ social-emotional well-being and academic success through thoughtful interventions and a student-centered approach.
To contact me, please click on the email link underneath my picture or email [email protected]. You can also reach me via phone at 773-534-8088. If I am unable to answer your call, please leave a voice message, and I will make it a priority to return your message.
I am genuinely excited about the opportunity to collaborate with you and work together to achieve your child's educational goals.
