BUDGET CUTS IMPACT SOPHOMORE SPORTS
Budgetary conditions have prompted the Chicago Public Schools to halt all spring sophomore sports. Only varsity and freshman teams are allowed to practice according to a memo sent to school athletic directors.
Chicago Summer Business Institute-App Due March 31st
The Chicago Summer Business Institute (CSBI) provides a six-week paid internship program for high school sophomores and juniors each summer. These internships take place at various banks, accounting, engineering and law firms firms throughout the Loop and business districts.
National Youth Leadership Forum on National Security Attendee
Joseph Balich, a current junior, is attending the National Youth Leadership Forum on National Security (NYLF/NS): Exploring American Diplomacy, Intelligence and Defense.

National Merit Scholarship FINALISTS
7 LP seniors have moved on to the finalist standing in the National Merit Scholarship Program. Of the 1.5 million entrants, only 15,000 advance to this stage.
